Ištrauka

Nadine Gordimer in her short story “An Intruder” describes a relationship between two very different persons. James Seago – an upper class English man who has left his last wife and now after hard-drinking and staying out late he takes up with the beautiful teenager girl Marie who he finds sexually attractive and likes having her as his teenager doll, his little pet while he stays with his friends in clubs and drinks. The language of the short story is expressive. It is full of metaphors and similes that both project the inner and outer dimensions of the characters, their surroundings and their actions.
