Journalist Lucy Siegle says, “Fast fashion is not free. Someone somewhere is paying.” In the past decade, fast fashion became an inseparable part of our life. The numbers of fashion consumption continue to increase steadily throughout the previous years, causing immense changes in daily existence. The aim of the essay is to list the advantages and disadvantages of the constantly growing fast fashion industry. This will be seen, firstly by discussing the main advantages such as affordable clothes and economic boost. Secondly, the paper will focus on disadvantages like pollution and labor exploitation.
